HOW DOES IT WORK?

  • UV-C It is the most aggressive UV radiation, whose wavelength is lower than 280 nm, ie lower than both UV-A and UV-B radiation.

  • UV-C radiation destroys 99.99% of viruses and bacteria on the irradiated surface within range of the germicidal emitter.

  • It is a fast way to destroy viruses and bacteria compared to complex liquid disinfectants or steam sterilizers. UV-C radiation breaks down the DNA of living organisms, so there must be no people, animals or plants near the switched on UV-C emitter.

  • Germicidal lamps mainly use a wavelength of 253.7 nm. High-performance germicidal emitters are commonly used to disinfect laboratory or hospital premises.

  • Ozone-producing and non-ozone versions are available on most of the models on offer. Ozone-producing lamps emit UV-C radiation with a shorter wavelength of 180 nm, which has a slightly smaller germicidal effect. However, ozone also has a biocidal effect and allows the effect to disinfect even those areas that are not directly irradiated.
